Interview with Kristina Adduci, founder of Art Zealous: an arts media platform dedicated to reporting on the latest art stories, artists, trends and events shaping the art world.
This week we're chatting with Kristina Adduci, the founder Art Zealous, and the ultimate resource when it comes to executing an art-lover's escape.
Kristina is here with insider intel on must-see sculpture gardens, out of town art museums, and the best spot for casual cocktails out East.
Q: Tell us a bit about Art Zealous.
A: Art Zealous is online arts media platform, to help young people get a better understanding of art with language and layout that’s clear and easy to follow. We bring the latest art exhibitions, daily news, and developments from galleries, museums and events to the next generation of art collectors.
Q: Is there a particularly art-centric weekend getaway you love?
A: When we were wedding venue shopping last Fall, I didn't realize how art-centric the Hamptons are! I got married at the Parrish Art Museum in Watermill, which is worth the trip alone. We love LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton. It's a 16-acre reserve with stunning gardens and sculptures. I also suggest checking out Novas Ark in Bridgehampton. It sits on a 95-acre preserve and has over 40 sculptures spread throughout the property by artist Mihai Popa.
Q: We hear you spend a lot of time in the Hamptons. What are your go-to spots? Anywhere off the beaten path you recommend?
A: Unlike most of my friends, I rarely venture past the Wölffer Wine Stand, which is my go-to for wine and charcuterie. We live in Southampton near the hamlet of Hampton Bays, which is becoming more and more popular. It's great because we avoid sitting in traffic for 2+ hours on 27. There are fantastic restaurants and bars in Hampton Bays. For the best stuffed flounder of your life, head to 78 Foster. For great cocktails and/or snacks, Canal Cafe, Shuckers, and Francesca's for casual Italian. Dinner spots I love: Stone Creek Inn, Cowfish and Oakland's. But honestly, we love hosting dinner parties, so you may find us on Meschutt Beach with a long table surrounded by seafood caught by my father-in-law and local wine.
Q: What's in your weekender? Fave products, books, emergency bottle of wine?
A: I have a Saturday's weekender bag that fits everything. My emergency bottle of Grüner Veltliner, liquid gel Advil, Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream, Hampton Sun, Better Than Sex mascara, Nars bronzer in Casino, Glossier’s Boy Brow, JR Watkins body lotion, interior design magazines, my one hitter, Solid and Striped bathing suits, and my Alexander Wang slip ons.
Q: Is there a regional trip you're dying to go on? If so, where and why?
A: I would love to check out Portland, Maine. A charming town with great seafood? Sign me up.
Q: We hear you have a new (travel friendly!) venture in the works, can you tell us a bit about it?
A: I can't say much, but keep your eyes on houseofpuff.com
Q: Last but not least - as a hard working woman on the go, how do you blow off steam mid-week?
